The Revision: Friday Foster
Friday Foster is a photographer and part-time model that works as an assistant to the famous photographer, Shawn North. Her career takes her from her home in Harlem to all over the world as she manages to get people out of trouble, champion the underprivileged, and, sometimes, find love. She always looks amazing while doing it. If you think this sounds amazing, you’d be right.
The Revision: Modesty Blaise
Modesty Blaise (1966, directed by Joseph Losey) is fun enough if you pretend it’s not related to the comic strip, other than the name and the general concept. It’s still not entirely successful on its own but that makes it less disappointing. And that’s “less disappointing.” It’s still a disappointing movie overall.
The Revision: Brenda Starr, Reporter
The comic strip is weird, delightful and fun and I don’t understand is how much this film serial completely misunderstands what makes Brenda Starr a great heroine.
The Revision: Blondie & Blondie on a Budget
There are 28 Blondie movies, with the first released in 1938 and the last released in 1950. Each runs about 70 minutes long. They are, essentially, super-sized sitcoms.
